About us

The Interneb Global Biomedical Computable Network is a global network dedicated to the exchange of computable health research data, created with the aim of transforming the way scientific knowledge circulates among institutions, countries, and disciplines.

Interneb is based on a simple and ambitious premise: research on health treatments produces valuable knowledge that, to a large extent, remains fragmented, inaccessible, or incompatible across systems.

What we do

Data exchange

Interneb enables the automatic exchange of computable data from health research studies on an international scale. This structure makes it easier to share scientific results across different institutions, countries, and systems, allowing information to be accessed, compared, and reused more efficiently.

Data Interpretation

By organizing data into computable and standardized formats, Interneb allows both digital systems and people to interpret information more easily.  This reduces technical barriers, improves data understanding, and accelerates the use of scientific knowledge in practice.

Evidence Base

We contributes to the creation of a global health evidence base that is continuously updated and integrated across different disciplines. This base supports research, comparative analysis, clinical decisions, technology development, and public policies strengthening global health knowledge sharing.

How does it work?

Our network connects autonomous databases, called DAB's (Autonomous Databases), whether public, private, or academic, in any country and in any language, through data exchange points called HIX's (Health Data Exchange Points). Together, DABs and HIXs form Interneb: a neutral, highly available, low-cost infrastructure designed to allow health knowledge to circulate efficiently and reliably.

The data transported through the network follows open and interoperable standards, initially based on FHIR profiles focused on treatment efficacy, and progressively expanded to other research categories, including patient data in the IPS (International Patient Summary) standard. The scope is broad and intentional: conventional medicine, homeopathic medicine, nutritional medicine, sports medicine, Chinese medicine, integrative medicine, and surgical medicine. All research-based knowledge has a place in Interneb.

HIX's

HIXs are the exchange points that connect DABs to one another. They function as the network’s regional infrastructure: neutral, efficient, and highly available. They do not store the data, but ensure that exchanges between databases occur quickly and in a standardized way.

DAB's

DABs are the databases that connect to Interneb. They may belong to universities, companies, medical associations, or government agencies, in any country and language. Whoever operates a DAB is responsible for the quality and accuracy of the data they enter into the network.
